through theatre, towards ourselves—and change.

Participants taking part in a Diligo event

our work shines a light where shadows run deepest. we bring taboo subjects into the spotlight. creativity, critical thinking and freedom to feel are our compass.

we want to see those who go unseen and hear those who go unheard.

through theatre, stories and shared experiences, we seek to open paths to understanding and change.

diligo /Latin/ to love—to value—to cherish

We are an association of non-formal educators united by a love of art and creativity. We work across theatre as a social art form, literature and photography; nature is also one of our greatest sources of inspiration and learning. We aim to share and use non-formal education methods in our work with young people on the margins of society. We draw on many years of direct work with people facing difficult circumstances: young people in children’s homes and residential education facilities, people in prison or after release, people with intellectual or multiple disabilities, and the wider public. Our experience spans Slovakia and other countries. By sharing inclusive approaches to education, we hope to make room in society for everyone who is open to working with us.
